Mentoring

Program for doctoral candidates, postdocs, habilitation candidates and assistant professors in the Faculty of Business, Economics & Social Science at the University of Bern (Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences)

WISO Mentoring is a program for the promotion of early career researchers in the Faculty of Business, Economics & Social Science and has already been run successfully three times. The fourth incarnation of the program began in May 2015 and is set to end in November 2016. The mentoring program is aimed at holders of qualification positions, i.e. doctoral candidates, postdocs, habilitation candidates and assistant professors in all departments of the Faculty of Business, Economics & Social Science (Business Administration, Economics and Social Sciences) at the University of Bern.

WISO Mentoring offers a multifaceted framework program and organizes courses specially structured to meet the needs of the target group. The suggestions and wishes of the mentees play a significant part in how the program is designed and organized. The WISO mentoring program aims to provide individual support to participants, offering them professional guidance and highlighting the opportunities presented by a career in science. It also supports them as they work toward becoming a tenured or associate professor at a Swiss or international university. The program also promotes the development of networks across different academic levels within the specialist field and the faculty and across disciplines.

The fourth edition of WISO Mentoring began in May 2015. The WISO Mentoring program is scheduled to run again in 2017.
